Aller Farmhouse Day 14

“There is no real ending. It’s just the place where you stop the story.”

It is a sad and happy day today….. I am extremely happy because the Labyrinth is complete. But very sad as my journey has come to an end for Aller Farmhouse and the making of my work.

It has been a wonderful experience, a real adventure! I have made lots of mistakes, learnt new things and met some pretty amazing people throughout these last few months.

Now time for celebration at the private view tomorrow and then a well deserved rest before the next journey begins.

“Desires, memories, fears, passions form labyrinths in which we lose and find and then lose ourselves again”.

Aller Farmhouse Day 13

” The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination”

Yikes where did the time go….day thirteen and nearly finished. The sun has come out which I am so happy about and a good report for the weekend, excellent (there is light at the end of that tunnel!).

Today has been just making the installation tidy… though I have added a growth from the frame into the ground to make the installation appear as if it is sprouting off the frame.

Aller Farmhouse Day 12

“As thunder rumbled, wondered I:
How come this grumble from the sky?
And lightning flashed and tore asunder,
This very sky that I stand under! ”

You would not believe this from the photographs (but do check the time lapse video if you don’t believe me!), but today was a TOTAL wash out, thunder, lighting and all!……

Because of this very reason I was not expecting any visitors today. But nah some very brave art lovers did visit me today despite the soggy grimness of it all!

I did get a good shot of a visitor inside my web, I am loving how the dark shadow of the figure is framed by the bright yellow.

Aller Farmhouse Day 11

“…the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time”

Back and refreshed after a day off and well what can we say about the weather report…. It lies! Today unfortunately was a miserable day….. though i did receive some encouragement from neighbours and passers by, which was much appreciated thank you!

I have made the entrance more like an archway today, making it stand out by using varied thickness of threads. Now is the time of tying loose ends, making some areas more defined and shaped.

Aller Farmhouse Day 10

“Will you walk into my parlour?” said the Spider to the Fly,
‘Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I’ve a many curious things to shew when you are there.”
Oh no, no,” said the little Fly, “to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne’er come down again.” ”

Day ten at Aller today and I have run out of wool….. nah only joking. I have more at home, but I have used all that I took on day one and I really didn’t think I would use all that! Amazing. Also I am spotting that daddy long legs are using my work to rest and keep dry.

Richard has also been working very hard in the garden today as you can see in the time lapse film for today!

I was also having a but of another wonder around the garden and this plant caught my eye, it looks really terrific in the rain.

It was a short day today and I will be taking a rest tomorrow from Aller, as the weather report is looking extremely grim! but will be back on Wednesday.
